“Shiv Bhojan Thali Should Continue – Opposition to the Decision to Stop the Scheme”
During the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, the “Shiv Bhojan Thali” became a crucial support system for the poor and needy. However, reports suggest that the Mahayuti government is planning to discontinue this initiative.
The Shiv Bhojan Thali was not just a government scheme but a lifeline for thousands of underprivileged individuals, including laborers and daily wage workers. This affordable and nutritious meal has helped feed millions. If the government is considering shutting it down, it would be an unjust decision against the marginalized sections of society.
The government currently spends approximately ₹267 crore annually to serve around 2 lakh meals daily, which is a relatively small expense. Given its importance to the needy, the Shiv Bhojan Thali scheme must continue.
