Hon. Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam was born on January 13, 1981, into a family with a rich legacy in social work and politics. He is the son of the state's senior leader, former minister, and founder-chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth, Dr. Patangrao Kadam. Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam is a computer engineer and has completed an MBA in Finance and Marketing. He has also earned a Ph.D. in Management.
Known as a young, energetic, and dynamic leader of the Congress party, he has carved out a distinct identity in the state through his work. With his organizational skills, he has deeply rooted the Congress party among the people. Following in the footsteps of his father, the late Dr. Patangrao Kadam, he is active in the fields of social work, politics, education, cooperation, arts, and sports. Beyond politics, he has a strong inclination toward social service and serves as the executive officer of Bharati Vidyapeeth.
In the 2019 Assembly elections, he set a record by winning with more than 1,62,000 votes. During the Mahavikas Aghadi government's tenure, he served as the Minister of State for Cooperation, Agriculture, Social Justice, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection, Minority Development and Wakf, and Marathi Language for two and a half years. During his time as a minister, he took several decisions for public welfare and successfully implemented various social welfare schemes. In 2019, when floods occurred in many parts of Maharashtra, he worked at a war footing to provide relief to flood victims. His work during the floods was remarkable. In the December 2022 village panchayat elections, he defeated the BJP and maintained his stronghold. Throughout his political career, he has never forgotten his ethical values and social responsibilities. He has focused on development politics rather than dominance, working to wipe away the tears of the poor and bring joy to their lives. Like his father, the late Dr. Patangrao Kadam, he is always ready to help people and solve their problems.

In the recently held 2024 Assembly elections, MLA Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam, representing the Congress Mahavikas Aghadi, achieved a remarkable hat-trick victory in the Palus-Kadegaon Assembly Constituency. He won with a margin of 30,064 votes, defeating BJP Mahayuti candidate Sangram Deshmukh and securing the trust of the constituency. Dr. Kadam's success was driven by his efforts in developing the constituency through funding of over ₹1,200 crore, along with advancements in education, cooperative institutions, and infrastructure projects.

Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam set a remarkable record by winning the 2019 Assembly elections from the Palus-Kadegaon Constituency with an impressive margin of 1,62,521 votes. Following this, he served as the Minister of State in the Mahavikas Aghadi government, overseeing portfolios such as Cooperation, Agriculture, Social Justice, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Protection, Minority Development and Wakf, and Marathi Language.

After the passing of Late Dr. Patangrao Kadam, Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam was elected unopposed as the MLA in the by-election for the Palus-Kadegaon Assembly Constituency.

Re-election as the President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress.
In 2014, he was re-elected as the President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress with a majority. He handled this responsibility effectively, consistently raising the voice of the common people through protests, marches, hunger strikes, and meetings to address their issues. Through the Congress party, he implemented various action programs.

He conducted a foot march from Buldhana to Sangli to raise awareness about the issues faced by drought-affected people.
In 2013, when Maharashtra faced a drought, Hon. Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam undertook a 532-kilometer foot march from Buldhana to Sangli to bring the issues of drought-affected people to the government's attention and ensure they received help. The march passed through nine drought-affected districts of the state and attracted significant attention. The march received overwhelming support, and Hon. Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam became recognized across the state as a "youth leader who fiercely fights for the issues of the people."

Election as the President of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress.
In 2011, he was elected as the President of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress with a huge majority. During this time, he traveled across the state and played a key role in party building. He also launched several unique initiatives for the personality development of the youth.

Election as the Vice President of the State Youth Congress.
In 2008, he was elected as the Vice President of the State Youth Congress. He traveled across the state, spreading the ideology of the Congress party to the public and worked to connect a large number of youth with the party.

Election as the General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress.
In 2007, the Congress leadership recognized Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam's outstanding work and appointed him as the General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress. He made the most of this opportunity by strengthening the Youth Congress organization across the state and made valuable contributions to party building.

Entry into politics at the age of 18.
